 Dust, Cobwebs and Life.

Wow.   Too long.  Too too long.  Did I say too long? :P

Yet what's captured here is still, if not even more priceless.  People have come and go.  Some have left us for eternity.  You've grown so much.

You are now in Form 1, and in two weeks we will know if you'll make it into boarding school or not.  Baba wants you to go.  Me?  Can't decide.

I just thought I'd take a peek into this blog and see if I would pick up writing again.  I realized I loved writing down my thoughts.  It has always been therapeutic.

You should try it some time Sayang.  It calms the nerves.

The pages doesn't judge.  The keyboard heeds your lead, and state no objection whatsoever about what you want to say.  WIFLE time.  What I Feel Like Expressing.

Lately, I have been thinking about my life when I first moved to study in Ann Arbor.  Gosh, that was an experience.  I was so, so, so, naive.  Yet, I survived two years there.

Living thousands of miles away from your family was both liberating and painful.  There was no one to tell you not do something.  You had to decide for yourself and bear all consequences of those decision.  Yourself.

Maybe. Yeah.  I'll start writing about that life in my next few post.

Raya At Mama's Office

Mama's office had a raya event last 15th August, and I actually had to bring you over in the afternoon (after school) because Baba could not come to pick you up earlier anyway as he was away in JB.

So you came, and had lots of fun.  I think your face appeared in most official and non-official photos taken that day.  So mesmerized were you by the colourful stringers they popped up during one of the performances that you spent a good rest of the evening trying to collect them (which you later presented nicely to Baba!)

Here are the memories:

Haj 2014

This year is the year Baba did his haj pilgrimage.  He departed with Atok on 26 September and will be back in 5 days - 27 October 2014.  We had a full month together at home, just the two of us.  Weekends would be spent at Taman Tun with Paklong and the geng.  Last week you and Ahmad made a welcome home poster for Baba and Atok.

Can't wait for the day Baba arrives home. We both miss him terribly don't we sayang?

Well it won't be long now.

2014 - A New Beginning

2014 - A bountiful year for us.

InsyaAllah this year, we will be performing Umrah with Atuk and Pak Long's family.

InsyaAllah, Baba will be accompanying Atuk to perform the Haj.

We got you immunized for the  Umrah trip two days back.  You made quite a scene at the clinic.  The doctor was kind enough to give you an ang pow since Chinese New Year was celebrated about a week ago.  Dr Lee (and most other Chinese) are still in the CNY mood I guess.

You are receiving formal pre-school education at Dzul Iman Khalifah School.  So far, you've learnt a lot of good things.  Mama and Baba are quite proud and surprised with your progress.

Well. Many more months to go.  I look forward to more good things for 2014.

Love,
Mama

The End of 2013

2013 is drawing its curtains soon.  So much has gone through and passed our lives this year.  You celebrated your 5th birthday quietly.  Not much fuss, as always.

Mama has already enrolled you in Dzul Iman next year.  InsyaAllah the school would be a good thing for you and you will get many new friends and learn a lot of new things.

You're such a good girl.  Most times, both me and Baba rarely need to press much discipline on you.  But sometimes you do act out and we deal with you accordingly.

Its almost like a dream.  One day, you're just an arms' length tall, and now you over my waist tall.  We love you sweetheart.

May 2014 bring more good returns for you and all of us who loves you dearly.

Happy Eid 2013

We wish all readers a Happy Eid 2013.  This photo was taken on the first day of Eid.  It took me a mouthful instructions to get these three to pose for this photo, especially Aishah (notice ruffled hair, after much coaxing from Danial for her to sit in between him and Khadijah.

The kids had a great raya (read as collected many angpows, ALHAMDULILLAH!). At least none of them fell sick during Raya despite hearing relatives and friends having flu and not in the best of health.

Hope you guys had a good festive holiday season as well!!

"Abang" & "Adik"

Lately, you've been playing with imaginary "Abang" and "Adik".

This normally takes place in the car and as Baba has strictly asked you to not jump around, you end up laying down most of the time, and playing with whatever you manage to get your hands on.  Yesterday for example, you were "fighthing" with your imaginary "Abang" and "Adik" for your pillow.  The dialogue goes something like this:

You:  Abang, don't take my pillow!
"Abang":  Its not your pillow, its Adik's pillow.
You:  No, its my pillow, not Adik's pillow.

Okay, so that went on being repeated for quite a few kilometres.

I can't help but smile from ear to ear listening to you.  We know.  You're lonely.  InsyaAllah, let's pray for a real Adik to grace our home soon, okay?

Enjoying The Good Life

And here I am. Enjoying the quiet this moment offers. Both you and Baba already asleep. Possibly from the long journey back to Kulim. I am grateful for moments like this.

We're just on a short trip back to visit Tok, Tok Wan and Tok Mi. And of course everone else who normally hangout with on our trips back. Food is always a strong agenda, and from the moment we step into Tok's home, till the day we leave for KL again, I know we won't be short of having good food! Yummsss... A favorite spot to go would be (in no particular manner):
1. Nasi Lemak Mummy
2. Nasi Kandar Haja
3. Kuey Teow Goreng Sg Dua (telur ayam dibasuh.. No kidding, that's what the signboard says)
Of course good food is always served at Tok Mi's house, courtesy of TokBik.

Tonight itself, we go to bed with tummy full of udang galah... How laaa mama nak, kurus?

Hehheeh... Good food, good company. Now. Thank You ALLAH.

Accessorizing the Ride

Your Baba recently had a make over for this bike.  Stripes of bike-related stickers adorn his motorbike much to his satisfaction.

Yesterday, you decided to offer some additional accessories.  Baba bought a new princess sticker book that comes with several pages of princess stickers.

You:  Baba, come letak this princess sticker on your moto
Baba:  Eh, no lah. I don't want
You:  Why? ish..nice la...this one (offering one sticker), cantik!
Baba:  Dont want laaa
You:  Come, take one.  All this new one you know. Nanti moto Baba pretty (proceed to try and stick one on the bike)

Baba already has a suspen face on.

Baba:  Its ok.  You stick in your book, k?
You:  Shakes head in disbelief, and walk away.

Teeheehee.  Nasib baik.  If not, hilang baba's machoness.  His bike will be the laughing object of his bike-group.

Surely after this he will be on the look out just incase you sneek a sticker on two on.

My Cherished

You and Danial being just 10 months apart are basically keeping each other company whenever you guys meet.

Play. Fight. Play. Fight.

Giggle. Scream. Giggle. Scream.

Your antics drive us up the wall, but I would have it no other way.

Trip Back to Kulim

We went back to visit Tok, Tok Nek and the rest of the clan during the previous Deepavali-Awal Muharram week.  We brought Atok along too since, well, he has not been to Kulim for quite some time.

Baba brought you to Junjung Waterfall again.
You made friends with an abang and a kakak.

Baba splashing water.  You hated it. But he did it again anyway.

Atok looking from afar.  Refused to come down.  Later Mama found out he went to "lepak" at the entrance of the waterfall, eating durians (He had like ALOT of durian in the span of the four days we were in Kulim).

Anyway.  we had fun.  Tok cooked us marvelous food.  Baba had a morning date with Atok and Tok Paman Din for nasi kandar.  Overall, wonderful trip back.

Pre Birthday Gift

Your 4th birthday is coming soon. This is your early birthday gift from Tok. You have it on almost all the time since we bought it for you. Such a diva!

You have it own all the time except when having your bath/shower, and sleeping.

Sheesh!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY PAKLONG

43 years ago, the eldest son of Haji Haron and Hajah Nya Tawi was born, in the wet weather of Terengganu.

Today, he is a loving father to Danial and Aishah, and husband to Mak Long.

May Allah Grant You All That is Good For You Both In this Life and After.

DanialDija: Episode of Keropok Bantal

Scene:  Living Hall, TV blaring with Disney Chanel program (Doc Mcstuffin or something similar).  We just arrived to have dinner with the Gang, and also to checkout Adik Aishah who is having measles.  Mama holding Adik Aishah on her lap.

Danial:  Ja, nah (holding out a bowl of keropok bantal).
Dija: Tak naaaaaaaaak!!
Danial: Naahhh...amikkkk!!
Dija: Tak naaakkk! Tak naaaakkkk!
Danial:  Apsal Ja tak nak ni Ma? Ja..amikk..sedapppp...tengok Abang makan!

Ma: *speechless*

Note:  Ma is what Danial calls me.  Short for Rosma.

Dija:  Nak Mama suapkan keropok (Must be jealousy case, since Aishah was on my lap)
Mama:  Hish, ngada lah kamu ni (whilst feeding her one to two keropok)

After about three times of feeding her the Keropok, takes bowl away from Mama and feeds herself.

Mama: *speechless again*

Danial: Haaa sedapkan Ja? (continues watching TV and munching Keropok Bantal)

Father Figure

Time flies. Its almost the end of 2012, and only God knows what is in store for us in 2013, or even if we make it to 2013.

You've always been a Mama's girl.  Semua pun nak dengan Mama.  Baba thinks I am your idol. And because of that I have to be careful of what I do and say with you even more.

Baba prefers to play the silent, background loving father.  Seldom showing his playful side with you and prefer to be appear extra strict with you even though Mama thinks the situation does not warrant him to be so.  When I ask him why he needs to be so garang? His response would be "She needs to be disciplined" :P

Anyway,he loves you dearly. He may be over protective, and sometimes seemingly appear to be monstrous (well, okay, maybe too much on the monster description).  But he loves you.

The Night After EidulAdha

We celebrated Eid ulAdha in KL this year.  Baba made qurban this year for you, and Alhamdullilah, the volunteers managed to complete qurban for all 21 cows on the same day.

The morning started with Mak Long and I cooking the special meal for the day.   Mak Long made delicioso yummy Ayam Masak Merah and Pilaf Rice, while Mama made Gulai Tulang, Pegedil and Sambal Ikan Bilis.

After prayers, Pak Long and entourage made way to his in-laws in Gombak, returning the same afternoon with more scrumptious food...aduhaii..there goes my diet!

The next Saturday night before we left for home, we had dinner at Secret Recipe, where upon paying for our bill realized that Aunty Gee's daughter was manning the till.  Despite being "advised" to behave, you and Ahmad felt its more fun to have your way in one corner of the restaurant.  Well, at least you guys were supervised so that you don't crawl on the floor, sit on the couch with your slippers on or jump up and down the sofas.

Here are some photos of the night...  I love it.

May ALLAH bless my little loved ones.

That Place In Port Dickson

Baba and I love coming over to this place.  Its the Coconut Grove Restaurant in Port Dickson.  We just love the ambience, and the whole windy, breezy feeling when you sit by the restaurant table and stare at the endless sea in front.

At least here, you get to play by the beach and get some sun.

Mama got to know of this place from another blogger (www.mamatiamia.blogspot.com) who also likes to make a pitstop here whenever she goes back to her village in Kuala Pilah.

For now, at least, if we need a short weekend getaway from the city, we can still brave out the energy to drive here.

Berangan

Mama is in a dreamy mood today.  I'm alway dreaming of my dream kitchen.  Something like this would be nice.

Baba would just nod and shake his head when I tell him of my dream.  The most he would respond to me would "yes dear, nanti kita buat camtu"

Well, who knows.  Maybe by the time you are able to read this blog, we really have one just like that eh? waaaaaaaaaaaaa..best!
